  • ape

To buy quickly and heavily without much research, usually because the ticker, the timing or the vibe felt right.

B · 13

  • bagholder

  • degen

Short for degenerate. Someone who takes outsized, often poorly researched risks on volatile coins, usually on purpose and usually proudly.

  • deployer

The wallet that created the token. Checking what else the deployer has launched is the fastest way to spot a serial rugger.

  • dev

Whoever deployed the coin. On Pump.fun this usually means the creator wallet, not a developer in any technical sense.

  • dev buy

The amount of supply the creator buys in the same transaction as the launch. A large dev buy means the dev can dump on everyone.

  • dev is based

Being used as a source of profit by insiders or bots, for example buying into a launch that was set up to sell into retail.

  • FDV

Fully diluted valuation: price times the maximum supply. For most Pump.fun coins the whole supply already exists, so FDV and market cap are the same.

  • sniper

A wallet or bot that buys a coin in the first blocks after launch, before most people can see it, and often sells into the first wave of buyers.

  • socials

A coin's X account, Telegram, website and similar links. Missing socials is a red flag; having them is the minimum, not proof.

  • soft rug

The team doesn't pull liquidity but dumps its tokens and abandons the project. Technically still tradable, practically dead.
